Welcome. My name is Greg Derr. I like many of you love photography. I’ve spent my whole life seeking out the best angles for images, mostly on the South Shore of Boston. My images appear daily in the Patriot Ledger. I have also published two books,
Boston’s South Shore and Plymouth at it’s Best (Commonwealth Editions). As a photojournalist I cover a wide variety of assignments for the Ledger, taking me all across the region, state and country. Sometimes overseas.
Now that the rain has stopped, local gardens are bursting with color. For an upcoming Ledgerland page in The Patriot Ledger I was out last week shooting roses.
My latest "Ledgerland in the Ledger Tuesday June 5, 2012 is a feature on the endangered piping plover, a small shore bird that is protected under the Endangered Species Act.

Change is good. With the change of the seasons comes a change in the landscape. What looked green is now yellow or brown, what was hidden by the leaves in the forest is now visible.
